2020 was a year unlike any other. Organizations globally, including eThink, were presented with unique challenges that required a quick and efficient reevaluation of goals and strategies in order to accommodate the safety and wellbeing of employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nevertheless, this put eThink in a unique position to support our clients and other institutions and organizations in various industries as they aimed to connect and engage team members while transitioning to remote work or hybrid environments. When we look at our year in review, we acknowledge that, although it’s been a challenging year, we feel rewarded in being able to support our clients and provide eLearning solutions that have enabled them to be adaptable in the face of unprecedented challenges.
Besides this work, eThink also achieved new goals, seized new opportunities in the current EdTech landscape, and even announced some very exciting news…
Here we’ll reflect on some of the biggest accomplishments in 2020 – all of which are a direct result of our team’s hard work and the support of our clients and partners.
Let’s take a look at eThink’s best moments of 2020! Read on for more details (or skip to the bottom to view a short infographic)!
eThink Joins Teams with Open LMS!
Probably the biggest news of the year was announced earlier this month! eThink Education has joined teams with Open LMS, becoming a part of the Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG) family. We’re so excited about the opportunities this presents us to provide world-class LMS support and innovation at a truly global scale.
With this partnership, eThink co-founders Brian Carlson and Cheryl Patsavos are moving into leadership roles in Open LMS and will be leading Sales and Customer Success, respectively. This acknowledges the strong company they have built at eThink, comprised of eLearning experts with tireless dedication to customer success and proven deliverability of high-touch, high-quality fully managed LMS solutions for clients of all kinds. By joining Open LMS, eThink begins their next evolution to grow into an even bigger and better company, and we all look forward to what we can do together in the years ahead!

As organizations and institutions alike turned to remote instruction or online operations earlier this year, the need for information around eLearning best practices and strategies skyrocketed. Aside from fully supporting our clients as they pivoted to accommodate remote learning models, eThink focused heavily on providing the L&D community with COVID-19 resources and thought leadership on how remote learning can be structured for maximum success.
eThink hosted 43 webinars over the past 12 months, highlighting how organizations could take advantage of the flexibility, functionality, and scalability of their Learning Management System (LMS) to support learners at a distance while aligning learning goals and desired outcomes. We also had the opportunity to present sessions with some of our top eLearning and technology partners such as OpenSesame, IntelliBoard, and Totara Learn as well as a handful of clients who shared their experiences transitioning to remote learning with eThink. (Check out our session with JA Canada on Rapidly Pivoting In-Person Courses to a Remote Learning Model.) Overall, we had over 9,000 learning professionals attend our virtual webinar events this year!
While COVID-19 put conference attendance to a screeching halt, eThink was able to appear at Learning Technologies and Training 2020 prior to lockdowns and connected with learning professionals at a variety of virtual events including the UK, US, and Mountain MoodleMoots, DevLearn, and the LMSPulse Summit. During these events, eThink took the stage (metaphorically) 19 times to share presentations on eLearning best practices and how eThink clients are using their platforms to support and amplify their remote learning initiatives.
Furthermore, eThink provided learning professionals with additional information and resources to share with their teams regarding trends and strategies for optimizing remote workplace learning. Our whitepapers were very well received, with over 2,700 downloads of our Back to School and Remote Work eBooks, Future-Proofing Your Training Program with Open Source and 4 Workplace Learning Trends All L&D Professionals Should Bring Into the New Year whitepapers, all of which explored a number of ways to structure learning programs for success.
Best-in-Class LMS Service & Support
As mentioned, eThink helped support clients through a variety of unprecedented challenges this year, including abrupt transitions to remote instruction and organizational changes in operations to accommodate the health and safety of learners. The eThink Support Team has worked incredibly hard to continue to deliver industry-leading support for our fully-managed eLearning solutions. eThink continues to deliver innovation, expertise, and exceptional service, receiving plenty awards, recognitions and accolades, and beating ticket response-time records year after year.
Our very busy Solutions Team provided 664 individual demonstrations and technical overviews of our solutions to prospective clients. The Services Team addressed 16,564 support tickets in 2020 while maintaining an average initial ticket response time of 43 minutes, while managing a growing number of clients! Our team has worked incredibly hard to ensure our clients, partners, and prospective clients are ecstatic with every eThink experience.
Case Studies & Client Reviews
For eThink, feedback from clients is incredibly important to continue to provide the best service in the industry. This year in particular, eThink’s prominence in the field of LMS solutions was demonstrated by positive client experiences and industry recognition from our peers in the field of online learning.
Client Reviews on G2
While eThink clients and care analysts worked together throughout the year, our team focused heavily on the satisfaction and success of our support initiatives. We love to hear from clients about their experiences with eThink – as you can see with our eThinkLove hashtag on Twitter – and so we conducted a reviews campaign to encourage client to share their feedback on G2, which is a software systems review platform. With in-depth feedback from over 30 clients, eThink received recognition in some of the most competitive LMS categories, including:
