If you’re a fellow Moodler, you’ve no doubt heard about the thriving calendar of MoodleMoots held around the globe. These are gatherings where Moodle users discuss all things open, online learning, and, specifically, Moodle. In the past, these “Moots” have often been regional or sponsored by a Moodle partner.
This year’s MoodleMoot will be held October 29-30 in Denver, Colorado, and Moodle HQ is working on making this an event like you’ve never seen before! This year’s event will have a focus on development, creativity, design and functionality. Attend to connect with other Moodlers and learn about and share information on key topics associated with the open-source learning platform, including:
- Moodle Development (a focus on code)
- Moodle Success Stories and Usage Studies (a focus on use and best practices)
- Moodle Design and Functionality Training (a focus on tip, tricks and training)
- What’s New From Moodle (a focus on project updates & what new is coming up from Moodle HQ)
This year’s Moot is set to be the largest, most interactive one to date! Read all about it here.
MoodleMoots have always been part of what makes Moodle so special. The opportunity to meet and interact with other Moodle users and representatives from Moodle HQ gives attendees a unique opportunity to steer the direction of Moodle.
eThink Education will be a gold sponsor of the U.S. MoodleMoot 2018. Our expert Support Team will all be in attendance, so you’ll have the opportunity to meet each of them and pepper them with whatever Moodle questions you may have!
As one of the co-founders of eThink, this is a key event for our team each year. We look forward to meeting clients in person that we may have only interacted with via phone or email. It is like meeting an old friend for the first time, and there are usually a few hugs and selfies! Here are a few snaps of us from last year’s Moot with some of our clients:
We also work with our team to craft relevant and helpful presentations. Last year our team spoke on Competency Based Learning, as well as Mobile Course and Theme design.
This year we are looking forward to the biggest and best U.S. MoodleMoot to date. We’ll be sending more of our eThink team than we ever have before, and we are encouraging everyone in the Moodle community to do the same.
Chief Moodler Martin Dougiamas will be in attendance and presenting a keynote to the Moot audience, as well as making time for one-on-ones. In addition to Martin’s presentation, we are looking for one other keynote speaker for Day 2 of the event so if anyone has suggestions please submit them here.
