What is GDPR?

GDPR, these four letters stand for the European Union General Data Protection guidelines, a set of privacy and data protection laws that are in place throughout the multi-country union. It is an important set of regulations to comply with if your LMS has any enrollees from the European Union, because online businesses must comply with the act to be lawfully engaging with web users from the EU.

If you don't know whether your LMS needs GDPR compliance, it is often less expensive to put it in place in case it is needed soon, rather than waiting until you find out you need to suddenly start being in compliance. Luckily, for Moodle™ LMS users the primary issue is informing enrollees about how their data will be used and not anything more intrusive or complex.
