What is ​​​​Instructor-Led Training?

This is the term for any training that takes place in a brick and mortar setting with one or more instructors in the room with the trainees. It can apply to any topic, from required safety training under OSHA guidelines to professional development designed to help people develop well in their roles and move forward in their careers.

While it's true that online learning can be led by instructors, online training is not considered instructor-led when the phrase is being used as a term of art. Instead, it is considered distance learning, even if it is not implemented in an asynchronous way. Any form of in-person instruction that puts learners in training sessions with instructors falls under this banner, from lectures to discussion groups, labs, and other forms of experiential learning that are carried out in a closed training environment.
