What is Microlearning?
A relatively new practice that started in eLearning and is now spreading to other instructional modes. Microlearning essentially boils tasks and skills down to core components, teaching them in very small lessons or activities.
The process reinforces those skills with repetition in small pieces and interspersed with other tasks, assessing student skill and knowledge retention regularly to assess mastery.
Its proponents maintain that it allows for a more flexible learning environment with a variable pace that is accessible even to students with learning disabilities.
