What Is Open Source?

A movement toward sharing software code and authorizing others to use it as needed in their own projects. Open source can refer to entire programs developed collaboratively and provided in a manner that allows other developers to change them as well as pure code that serves a function within another program and can be adapted into applications as needed. In L&D, open source platforms are very popular because they can be tailored to suit the needs of companies and educational institutions.
