What is ​​​Performance Management?

Broadly, this term refers to the process of making sure that an organization's output meets its goals. The scope of the management can be as broad as the whole organization or as narrow as an individual.

For example, broad feedback on participation in training and safety programs can tell an organization how progress toward adopting new policies is proceeding. Similarly, individually tracking who has and has not been through the training allows HR or other responsible individuals to prompt anyone who is behind the expected timeline for completion, to help them get on track.
In many eLearning environments, performance management has begun to be automated with machine learning tools that provide regular insight along several dimensions of progress, allowing for more granular tracking of learners through complex sets of training materials.
