Some of the most popular plugins we see businesses, universities, and organizations using today include media plugins in order to enhance the online learning experience. These three solutions below provide interactive video, hot spot activities, live conferencing, and other cutting-edge technologies that can make learning more interactive for both learners and educators.
RecordRTC is a set of plugins made for the Atto and TinyMCE editors. These plugins allow users to apply audio and video annotations to text.
Buttons for audio and video recording are added to the editor’s toolbar with this plugin. Once a recording is complete, users are able to embed the annotation directly into the text they are editing. An audio or video player will appear within the text when published.
The default recording time limit typically sets to 120 seconds which results in files sizes of around 40mb. This file size can be adjusted, but bear in mind that longer recordings equal larger file sizes that your browser may not be able to support.

H5P is known for its ability to provide users with access to many different types of interactive content. Popular interactive elements such as hot spots, quizzes, and videos can be created with this tool. Users can also get creative with the tool by building timelines and making collages.
H5P also gives users the ability to easily share, reuse, and edit their already-existing content. For example, you could pull one interactive element from one course and use it in another. H5P uses html5 and is free and responsive.
You can find the H5P plugin in the Moodle directory here.
