What is Canned Content?
A lot of the text out there in internet resources today is clipped from other resources, and that's what is meant by canned content in most cases. When referring to resources in an LMS, this means importing resources that weren't originally written for the course specifically, and then using them as a primary source of information and not a text for analysis and critique.
Canned content is viewed by many users and professionals as less desirable than custom content for many reasons, but there are also many basic points that can be covered with it, without reinventing the wheel. Not to be confused with off-the-shelf content.Explore More Useful Resources: What is MicroLearning? How to Easily Incorporate MicroLearning Content into Your Learning Strategy
