What Is a Content Management System?

If you're familiar with learning management systems from part one, it's easy to understand content management systems because an LMS is a specialized form of CMS. Basically, content management allows users to change the content on a site without needing access to core design features.

It allows for developer control without micromanagement and facilitates fast updates because authorized users can simply sign in and input the content without worrying about adding their own formatting and design elements. It's often used to manage web pages in addition to online learning environments.
