What is eLearning?

This term broadly covers all learning that happens via electronic means. That includes not only traditional online learning activities like reading electronic sources and engaging in discussion board conversations, but also techniques like digital lectures via teleconference and online experiential learning in technical fields.

In conversation, its most common usage is to discuss the LMS platform used to deliver content and the content of the modules, or else to refer to online learning as a general phenomenon. Often, eLearning is used interchangeably with the brand name of the Learning Management System (LMS) used for it at an institution.
